Demand for probe

Bhubaneswar: The civil societies on Monday demanded CBI investigation into the land and mining scams in the state and threatened to launch a statewide protest if a probe was not ordered. “As many as 28 civil society groups have joined hands to stage an united fight against the scamsters and their protectors in the state,” said well-know RTI activist Pradip Pradhan.

Poachers held

Baripada: Forest officials of Mayurbhanj district have seized a dead wild boar from the possession of poachers under Thakurmunda forest range, and arrested two of them named Dumka Pingua, 45 and Jaga Dalei, 27. Fourteen others fled.
