Mascots rewarded

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday felicitated Dinesh Routray, Upendra Jena and Satya Narayan Srichandan, who played the part of Olly, the mascot who popularised the Asian Athletics Championship in the city. The trio received a cash reward of Rs 25,000 each. 

New train

Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway will introduce the Bhubaneswar-Krishnarajpuram-Bhubaneswar Humsafar Express from July 13. Railways minister Suresh Prabhu will flag off the train through video conference.

Delivery

Bhubaneswar: A woman from Ganjam on Wednesday delivered a baby near the Bhanjanagar hospital gate. Basumati Naik complained of labour pain following which she was rushed to Bhanjanagar hospital where the doctors referred her to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. Repeated calls for an ambulance were in vain.

Heritage tag

Bhubaneswar: Bhitarkanika National Park has failed to earn Unesco World Heritage Site tag, the list of which was published recently. The three newly added sites are Aphrodisias (Turkey), English Lake District (United Kingdom) and the Valongo Wharf Archaeological Site (Brazil).
