Matric exam

Bhubaneswar: The evaluation of matriculation examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education will start from Monday. Board officials said around 14,700 examiners would be deputed to evaluate the papers at 60 evaluation centres across the state. The evaluation process will be completed within 10 days. 

DNA test nod

Cuttack: A local court here allowed a police petition to conduct DNA test to ascertain the parentage of two newborn babies who were rescued after being stolen from SCB Medical College and Hospital. “The test is a routine procedure of investigation into the theft cases that were reported at Mangalabag police station before handing them over to the parents, who had filed the complaints,” said deputy police commissioner Sanjeev Arora. 

One killed

Bhubaneswar: A BJD worker was killed when a group of 20 criminals allegedly attacked him with sharp weapons at Rohigaon on Friday. Another party worker was injured in the alleged attack. The deceased, Ashok Jena, was the brother of Kukudakhandi block president Sanyasi Jena. The incident took place when the two BJD workers were returning home.
