Three arrested

Nabarangpur: Police arrested three persons, including the branch manager of a private finance company, on Friday, for allegedly amassing Rs 6,10,500 through their organisation.  Altogether, Rs 3,70,290 have been recovered from them. Branch manager Sushant Sahu had lodged a complaint with the Umerkote Police Station here on June 5 stating Rs 6,10,500 was stolen from his company branch here. However, in the course of investigation, the police found that the manager himself was involved in the crime.

Bhubaneswar: Goons snatched away the bag from a mother-son duo in Tangi block of Khurda on Friday. They were returning home after withdrawing Rs 1.60 lakh from a bank in Banapur.  

Protest

Bhubaneswar: Passengers had tough time at the city railway station as activists of the Congress youth wing staged a rail roko dharna on Friday protesting the death of five farmers in Madhya Pradesh. The youth activists halted the Falaknuma Express and Bhubaneswar-Bhadrak-Berhampur passenger train. Holding party flags and shouting slogans, the activists led by senior party leader Suresh Routray took out a rally from the Congress Bhavan to the railway station and staged a protest.
