Rally deferred

Bhubaneswar: The proposed Air Force recruitment rally scheduled to be held at the Airman Selection Centre near Rajdhani College at Baramunda here for Group X (technical) and Group Y (medical assistant) employees from October 10 to October 18 has been postponed in view of the a severe cyclonic storm that may strike Odisha coast on October 12.

Two in net

Bhubaneswar: Two people have been arrested for murdering a man after falsely accusing him of practising witchcraft. Shyamghana Majhi and Giridhari Majhi were arrested for killing 75-year-old Khageswar Majhi in Chhatriapada village, about 560 km from Bhubaneswar.

Clash arrest

Balasore: Town police arrested three persons in connection with a group clash that took place during idol immersion. The accused are Babu Kar, Chandan Barik and Bhima Majhi.

Balasore: Residents of Simulia under the banner of ‘Bikash Parishad’ staged a demonstration in front of Markona railway station to press for their demands including, infrastructure development of the station and stoppage of trains.

Suicide

Balasore: A 50-year-old man committed suicide in Soro on Wednesday. He has been identified as Jyotiprakash Dash, a native of Balasore.
