New police area divisions

Bhubaneswar, Sept. 1: The Commissionerate of Police today reconstituted its police sub-division for better administration.

Following the reconstitution, the number of police sub-divisions has gone up to six (from five) in Bhubaneswar and six (from four) in Cuttack.

A police news release said the reconstitution was necessary because of the rising population and an increase in the number of police stations.

Capital police station, Kharavela police station and Bhubaneswar Mahila police stations will come under the Bhubaneswar Sub-division 1. Similarly, Uttara police station, Lingaraj police station, Air Field police sttion and Airport police will come under Sub-division 2, Tamonda police station, Khandagiri police station, Jatani police station and Energy police station under Sub-division 3, Baragarh police station, Laxmi Sagar, Balapatna and Balianata police station under Bhubaneswar Sub-division 4. Nayapalli police station, Mancheswar police station and Saheed Nagar police station under Bhubaneswar Sub-division 5, Chandka police station, Nandan Kanan police station, Infocity police station and Chandrasekhar police station will come under Sub-division 6. Officers in the rank of assistant commissioner of police will be in charge of each sub-division.

In Cuttack, Jagapur police station, Choudwara police station and Malgodown police station will come under Sub-division-1, Mangalabag police station, Cantonment police station, Dargahabazar police station and Cuttack Mahila police station under Sub-division 2, Lalbag police station, Bidanshi police station, Market Nagar police station and CDA-Phase-11 police station under Sub-division 3, Cuttack Sadar police station, Baranga police station and Energy police station under Sub-division 4, Chauliaganja police station, CRRI police station and Kandarpur police station under Sub-division 5, Puri Ghat police station, Madhupatna police station and Badamabadi police station will come under Sub-division 6.
