I have a great interest in taking part in debate competitions. I have been doing debates since my childhood and have won several awards and accolades at various events. I believe that debating is a respectful and reasonable way to put your argument and opinion over a certain subject and counter the opposing points of view.
My suggestion to fellow students will be to try and shed their stage fear and not to care too much about what the audience will speak about you. Give your opinions openly and honestly.
Prepare and work on your scripts and make proper eye contacts with the audience. Always simile and appear confident and do not get nervous if you forget a point or two. Jump over to the next point and cover it later.
Recently, I won the Sahodaya Inter-school Debate Competition, one on road safety and another for the best slogan. My slogan "No Safety Know Injury. Know Safety, No, Injury" won the best slogan award.
Besides public speaking, I also like to draw and do horse riding. My aim is to clear the IIT entrance exams and later prepare for the civil services.
