Bhubaneswar, July 21: The house of senior BJD legislator and former minister Bishnu Charan Das was burgled on Saturday night.

The goons broke open two almirahs kept in the MLA’s bedroom and took away valuable official documents along with cash. Police sources said around Rs 1 lakh was stolen.

The MLA was visiting his constituency when the loot took place.

Though a security guard and a gardener were present in his residence, the goons locked the room where both of them were sleeping.

“They broke the bedroom window to enter. However, my passport was not stolen,” Das said.
