Balangir: Two minor boys of Sonepur who were kidnapped proved too smart for their abductors as they managed to escape from their clutches and landed up in the safe hands of police here on Wednesday.

A police officer said the incident occurred early in the morning on Wednesday when the boys were out for a walk at the Gandhi field. They said some unidentified persons gagged and blindfold them and pushed them into a car.
"We didn't know where they were taking us. After about one hour the vehicle stopped and they went out leaving us alone. We managed to locate the place flee towards the town," said one of the boys. The boys reached the Tikrapada square where some people spotted them and informed the Police Control Room (PCR).
The boys said the vehicle was stopped near the level crossing in Kadampada of Balangir. However, when the police reached the spot the abductors had left the place with the vehicle. Inspector in charge of Balangir town police station Gokulananda Sahu said the motive of the abductors was not clear.
