Fun event

Sishu Shakti, the 11th annual day celebration of Maria Montessori School of Little Angels, a creche-cum-play school, was held at Jayadev Bhavan on March 3. Speaking on the occasion, energy, information and public relations minister Arun Sahoo encouraged the kids to have a creative bent of mind and experiment with art, photography and dancing besides day-to-day studies. Olympian Aruradha Biswal also encouraged students on the same lines. While the students staged several cultural programmes, awards for best teacher, organiser and social service were also given away. School principal Jasaswini Mohapatra co-ordinated the programme.

Blessing ceremony

St Xavier’s High School at Barabati Stadium organised a special “blessing ceremony” as part of its farewell event to the outgoing Class X students on February 12. School director P.C. Mohanty, along with other senior teachers, shared their memories with the students. The teachers thanked them for their wonderful accomplishment in various co-curricular fields during their school days. Students presented dance, song and music performances at the event.

Felicitation

Delhi Public School, Kalinga, trustee Mala Mishra was felicitated on the occasion of the International Women’s Day for her contribution to the society in the field of education. She was felicitated and honoured with the title of “Aarya”. Mishra has been working in the field of education for over a decade now.

Teachers’ training

The CBSE organised a special training program on “onscreen marking” for teachers of Mother’s Public School, Bhubaneswar. The training was provided for Hindi, English and social studies teachers of all schools in Khurda and Cuttack districts under the jurisdiction of the CBSE regional office, Bhubaneswar, with at least three years’ experience and the eligibility to be board examiners. A similar training was conducted for science and maths teachers of Class X at ODM Public School a few days ago.

The training was provided by officials of Tracmarks, which has been outsourced online exam paper correction, by the CBSE. In this latest exam paper correction technique, answer papers will be scanned and sent to the examiners.

Annual programme

Kalinga Kids School at Patia organised its annul event on February 2. Titled Jingalala, the event saw amazing performances by little ones. The school authorities gave away prizes to meritorious kids, who excelled in various competitions throughout the year.

Bus drivers groomed

About 60 school bus drivers from all the four DAV schools were imparted training on proper driving and conduct at the DAV Public School, Pokhariput. The Tata Motors organised this.
