Bhubaneswar, July 22: Debanand Nayak’s (Soni) upcoming flick Raju Awara is not just a boy-meets-girl love story.
The film not only promises its audience a blend of human emotions and drama but also assures to be very different from any Oriya film made so far.
With Orissa heartthrob Akash Das Nayak and Bengali beauty Arpita Banerjee starring as the lead pair, this upcoming film has already created huge expectations among the audience.
The film is in its post-production stage and the team is planning to release the film in October to pull in crowds during the festive season.
The story revolves around a rural boy from an orphanage who yearns to explore the city-life. The youngster sets off to the city where he meets a blind girl and falls in love.
The boy vows to bring light and colour to the girl’s life. He goes through several trials and tribulations to see a smile on his beloved’s face.
The climax comes when the boy gets embroiled in a murder charge. The roller coaster journey of the boy is the highlight of the film, said the director.
“The plot of this film had been hovering over my mind for a long time. It’s my dream film. I can guarantee that the plot is unique and is thoroughly entertaining. The actors have done a great job and the audience will simply love the film. Bidyadhar, our music director has also done a commendable job,” said the excited director, Debanand Nayak.
The film has been shot in the beautiful locales of Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Chandragiri. Bidyadhar has composed six songs for the romantic drama, each inspired by a different musical generation of the Oriya film industry.
The director, in no mood to leave any stone unturned, also added an item song to up the spunk of the film. The entire cast and crew is excited about the film and is confident about its success.
“I am super-excited about the movie. My role in the movie is quite challenging and all of us worked really hard. We are keeping our fingers crossed. Our director Debanand Nayak has shot the film beautifully. Working with Arpita is fun. She is very friendly and hard working. We had a great time,” said actor Akash Das Nayak.
The other supporting actors of the film are Manojit Boral and Bijay Pattanaik. Santosh Tripathy and Ellora Priyadarshini have produced the film under the banner of Abhaya Jyoti Productions.
