Launch of TV channel

A daylong panel discussion on various social, political and academic issues was held at a city hotel on Sunday to mark the launch of Odia news channel, Kalinga TV. Eminent personalities including Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan, author Suhel Seth, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra, columnist Victor Mallet spoke on the space electronic media provided for underprivileged communities.

A daylong panel discussion on various social, political and academic issues was held at a city hotel on Sunday to mark the launch of Odia news channel, Kalinga TV. Eminent personalities including Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan, author Suhel Seth, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra, columnist Victor Mallet spoke on the space electronic media provided for underprivileged communities. 

The panelists spoke in favour of an inclusive media that reaches out to the every section of people rather than only market-oriented consumers. In one of the sessions, senior journalists from across the country debated on the trends and issues concerning media regulation and accountability. In the final segment, the focus of the discussion was Odisha 2020. Speakers delved on where the state would find itself five years from now. Governor SC Jamir, who hailed the channel for bringing together people from diverse sections of to discuss critical issues, attended the valedictory session.
