Bhubaneswar, Aug. 28: Web-based counselling for B.Sc students, who had appeared for the Orissa Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE)-2011, seeking admission into second-year degree courses in engineering will be conducted till August 30.
For this purpose, the Centre for IT Education (Cite) at Mancheswar here has been fixed as the nodal centre.
As per the schedule, eligible candidates can register themselves and fill in their choice of colleges till August 30. Document verification and choice locking will take place on August 30 and 31 and candidates are to report at Cite between 9 am and 6 pm. First list of provisional seat allotment would be published on September 1.
On the following day, the candidates must deposit the part admission fee of Rs 16,000 for government colleges and Rs 30,000 for private colleges at the nodal centre. The list of final allotment of seats would be declared on September 3. The part admission fee deposit for “newly allotted candidates”, who have not been allotted any college during the first phase of counselling, will take place on September 4. These students have been asked to report at the institutes allotted to them on September 5 and 6.
This year, nearly 100 science graduates had appeared for the OJEE for lateral entry admission, said Priyabrat Sahu, secretary of OJEE committee.
“As per the All India Council for Technical Education norms, seats which remain vacant after lateral entry admission into diploma courses in engineering are filled up by science graduates seeking admission into second year degree courses,” said Sahu.
