Bhubaneswar, Aug. 15: An exclusive music video was launch here on the eve of Independence Day by the state's own Indie alternative rock band Vighnanz.

The band, in association with Prelude Productions and Basudev Films, launched "Vande Mataram", a Hindi music video, to instil the sense of patriotism among the youth.

Vighnanz consists of six members - Durga is the lead vocalist, Anup is on lead guitar, Hrishi is the bass guitar player, Zubin is on the drums, Christo on the keyboards and Krushna on percussion. The lyrics to the song have been penned by Saroj and sung by G. Durga, the lead vocalist of the band.

"The music video is dedicated to all Indians who have done our country proud. Vande Mataram is a humble gesture from our band to celebrate the unity and oneness we have among ourselves in spite of belonging to various religions and following different cultures. India is a secular country and our music video celebrates that," said Durga.

The video has been shot extensively in and around Cuttack. Basudev Films, which has directed this music video, has brought in elements such as sports and children as they stand as a symbol that unifies different communities in the country.

"We have been associated with Vighnanz since its inception in the year 2007. Together, we have produced two albums and done around 300 shows across India. Apart from the mainline Odia industry songs, there are different genres of music that need to be cultured in Odisha so that there is a wholesome development in the music industry. Odisha has many talented musicians and they need a platform to showcase their compositions. This is a humble attempt and I'm sure our youth will love this different taste in music," said Satyabrat Sanu Ratho, founder-director of Prelude Productions.
