Making debut in his home state, the globetrotting designer presented his bridge line “P for PP by Pritam Panda” in Bhubaneswar. The elegant use of local tussar silk and European fabrics lent an East-meets-West touch to the gorgeous outfits. The city’s glitterati kept their eyes peeled for B-town beauty Anjana Sukhani, who was the showstopper of the evening. t2 caught the catwalk drama.

HIGH ON THE STYLE-O-METER

Floor kissing gowns that smack of serious red carpet fashion. Empire silhouettes, corset outlines, teasing low backs and sexy cuts added a sensuous touch to the dresses embellished with gems and sequins.

THE SHOWSTOPPER

Anjana Sukhani of Golmaal Returns fame looked drop-dead gorgeous when she arrived in a LBD and quickly slipped into a Pritam Panda number – a black backless mermaid gown in tulle and Italian satin embellished with swarovski crystalline and diamante. Temperatures soared and the crowd roared as the demure damsel sashayed down the ramp. “I love what I am wearing because I don’t have to worry about accessories at all. I have known Pritam for quite some time and I am glad to meet him,” she gushed.

THE MAN BEHIND THE SHOW

The 12 costumes in the luxury prêt section had a strong sense of femininity intertwined with the power and grace of a classic “Pritam Panda woman”, who is sexy, savvy, sophisticated and has a cosmopolitan appeal. “The draping, pleating and entangling styles in every dress represent that connection. The outfits are glamorous yet comfy with a touch of vintage elegance. My red carpet styles have been flaunted by the likes of Mallika Sherawat, Keira Knightley, Dolly Parton and other celebs but I decided to prune the costs to make my label accessible to a wider section of women,” said Pritam.
