Bhubaneswar: The housing and urban development department has directed the municipal corporation and the Public Health Engineering Organisaton (Pheo) to submit a list of all pending projects and their corresponding deadlines to the government.
The aim is to take steps to ensure time-bound completion of the city projects pending for various reasons. The urban development department will assist in spotting the bottlenecks and suggest measures to the executing agencies.
The urban development department has provided a format for submission of the project details. Officials concerned will have to mention the name of the project, date on which the foundation stone was laid, its present status, tentative date of inauguration and problems if any in executing it.
"We have directed the agencies to submit the details of the pending projects related to water, sanitation and other infrastructure by July 10," said an urban development official.
Projects pending with the civic body include wet markets at Ghatikia and Unit IV, modern slaughterhouse at Gadakana, restoration of major ponds, and a greenfield hospital at Gadakana.
"We do not have much pending projects, but still there are some that have been delayed due to several reasons, including inefficiency of the executing agency and land issues," said Pheo superintending engineer C.R. Jena.
Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena said that pending projects and help necessary to execute them were discussed at the monthly council meetings.
