Exploring the complexities of the mind and the vigour that meditation brings, Chandrakala S. Chincholi (in picture left with her artworks at the Odisha Modern Art Gallery in Bhubaneswar) from Gulbarga, Karnataka, has displayed her ideas on the canvas.
In an ongoing solo exhibition titled "Rhythm of Multiplex" held at the Odisha Modern Art Gallery in Bhubaneswar, her works reflect various patterns of the mind waves and she deciphers this while meditating.
Chandrakala has chosen various geometrical shapes and superimposed them on one another to bring out the effect of energy that yogic exercise brings to the mind. While concentric circles are the most common feature in most of her works, she has also used backdrops of triangles and squares in monochromes of deeper shades of blue, red and black. "There are colours and patterns that one sees with closed eyes when meditating. I find them to be a connection with the cosmos and thus find art in yoga," said Chandrakala.
There are 30 paintings on display.
The intriguing works are winning appreciation from art lovers in the city. "The paintings are impressive and there is indeed something serene about the paintings," said Sabyasachi Rout, an art lover.
The exhibition started on February 26 and will continue till March 3.
