Cuttack, Jan. 14: Police today took stevedoring baron Mahimananda Mishra, who was sent to judicial custody on Thursday in connection with the Abhay Bhatt bombing and attempt-to-murder case, on a three-day remand for interrogation.

Deputy commissioner of police Sanjeev Chopra, however, said that if the investigation was completed before the three-day remand period, they would send him back to judicial custody sooner.

Mahima was brought to Cuttack after the court of the sub-divisional judicial magistrate here allowed the police to include him in the Abhay Bhatt case.

The Cuttack SDJM's court rejected Mahima's bail pleas and remanded him in judicial custody till January 25. Accordingly, he was sent to Choudwar jail.
