Folk dances steal show

A bhangra dance troupe of Darshan Singh from Punjab, bhabai folk dance by Gutam Parmar from Rajasthan, and abhinaya of two sisters of Padambruta Nrutyayana stole the show on the third day of the Gajapati Utsav at Paralakhemundi on Thursday.

Berhampur: A bhangra dance troupe of Darshan Singh from Punjab, bhabai folk dance by Gutam Parmar from Rajasthan, and abhinaya of two sisters of Padambruta Nrutyayana stole the show on the third day of the Gajapati Utsav at Paralakhemundi on Thursday.

The bhangra and bhabai folk dance were energetic, the abhinaya of two sisters depicting Radha and Meera was spiritually blissful and the kuchipudi dance by the orphans touched the spectators' heart with emotion.

A team from Bengal led by Debasish Chakraborty performed Telugu and Rajasthani folk dances. The tribal dance performed by school students of Gosani, Rayagada and R. Udayagiri blocks in the district was appreciated by all.
