Fake examinees held

The industrial police in the district arrested six persons for hiring fake examinees to write the special OJEE second entrance examination for two candidates.

Balasore: The industrial police in the district arrested six persons for hiring fake examinees to write the special OJEE second entrance examination for two candidates.

The accused persons were identified as - Chandan Singh, 18, resident Chhatrapur in Khantapara police limits, Sanjiv Kumar Sharma, 24, resident of Ninhar village, in Rohtas police limits of Bihar, Biswajit Mohapatra, 27, resident of Sahajipatna village in Remuna police limits, Umashankar Rout, 19, resident of Sannata in Nilgiri police limits, Chandrakant Satpathy, 36, resident of Kuligaon village in Khantapara police limits and Gopikishan Nayak, 21, from Tahalia village in Khantapara police limits. They were forwarded to the court after their bail petitions were rejected.

The police said they begun investigating the case after receiving a compliant from the principal of government ITI institute, Balasore, that two fake examinees were caught on Sunday during the special OJEE second entrance examination in his centre.

The principal of the institute, Krushna Chandra Rout, lodged an FIR with police. He said the accused persons were caught by the invigilator during checking. Inspector in-charge of Industrial police station Paresh Kumar Rout said Chandan Kumar Singh and Sanjiv Kumar Sharma were writing the entrance tests for two other candidates.

The police further said Chandrakant Satpathy, a lecturer of a private engineering college, is the master mind of the crime. He use to arrange fake candidates to write the examination for other candidates.

Apart from him those who were involved in the crime were working as commission agents. They used to rope in students in the crime.

Satpathy is the principal accused of the racket. He was successful in providing admission to a student for whom a fake candidate wrote the examination.
