Bhubaneswar, Jan. 4: Authorities of the East Coast Railway have decided to increase the number of coaches in the Puri-Durg Express and the Visakhapatnam-Amritsar Hirakud Express in view of increasing demands to clear waitlisted passengers.
The Puri-Durg-Puri Express will have another AC-2 tier coach and a sleeper class coach till January 20 from Puri and till January 21 from Durg. An additional coach will be added to the Visakhapatnam-Amritsar-Visakhapatnam Hirakud Express from Sambalpur to Amritsar on January 7 and from Amritsar to Sambalpur on January 9.
It was also decided to extend the services of the Puri-Bangalore-Puri weekly Garib Rath Special train till March 25 from Puri and up to March 26 from Bangalore. The Puri-Bangalore-Puri Garib Rath is a temporary special train.
The Puri-Bangalore Garib Rath weekly special train leaving Puri every Friday 2.30pm and arriving at Bangalore at 10.45pm the next day will now run up to March 25 from Bhubaneswar. In the opposite direction, the Bangalore-Puri Garib Rath weekly special train that leaves Bangalore every Saturday at 11.55pm and arrives at Bhubaneswar at 5.50am every Monday has been extended to run up to March 26 from Bangalore.
