Robbers flee with gold worth Rs 1cr

Berhampur: Six motorcycle-borne criminals on Saturday looted more over 4kg of gold ornaments worth Rs 1 crore from a jewellery shop at Kumuti Sahi under Buguda police station, about 70km from here. “They confined all of us in one room and looted all the ornaments from the shop,” Gopal Krishna Achari, the shop owner said. Police said they had identified some accused from the CCTV footage.  

KBK funds

Bhubaneswar: The state government has decided to increase financial assistance for the backward Kalahandi Balangir Koraput (KBK) region under the KBK Biju Yojana from Rs 120 crore to Rs 250 crore.
