Devotee gets burnt

Bhubaneswar, Nov. 5: A woman devotee sustained burn injuries when her sari caught fire from an earthen lamp at Nabagraha temple near the Konark Sun Temple around 60km from here.

The injured, identified as Kalyani Swain, was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Officer in-charge of Konark police station P.K. Rath said the woman hailed from Niali in Cuttack district. “Her sari caught fire from a lamp and her arm got burnt till the elbow. She was rushed to the nearby public health centre and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital as her injuries were found to be severe,” said Rath.

There was heavy rush at Nabagraha temple since today was the last Saturday of sacred month of Kartik, eyewitnesses said.
