Bhubaneswar, Sept. 5: Train services in Rayagada and Titilagarh sections have been disrupted due to derailment of a goods train between Theruvali and Rayagada stations in Sambalpur division of the East Coast Railway.

Around 14 wagons of the train derailed and two capsized following the mishap that took place around 1.15am today.

This forced railway authorities to cancel, divert, reschedule, short-terminate and control some trains.

An official said efforts were being made to restore traffic on the route by removing the wagons from the tracks. However, the reason behind the derailment is yet to be ascertained.

“An inquiry has been set up to look into the reasons behind the mishap. Our priority is to restore train services here,” he said.
