Bhubaneswar, Sept. 17: Director-actor duo Ashok Pati and Babushan Mohanty are coming together once again with romantic drama Diwana Diwani after the success of their last movie, Idiot.

The mahurat of the film was held at a city hotel on Saturday. The movie is being made under the banner of Mahadev Films.

The film narrates the story of two lovers — Banya, played by actress Madhumita, and Sanju, essayed by Babushan. Banya hails from an affluent family.

She has been born with a silver spoon in her mouth and has everything a person can dream of.

Despite that, she is lonely. She longs for companionship. Sanju is from a lower middle class family. He enjoys his life but is also aware of his responsibilities.

Like any romantic drama, cupid strikes when the two youngsters find solace in each other’s company. But no love story is complete without its share of heartache. The film revolves around how an innocent boy throws all caution to the air in an attempt to prove his love for his girl. As director Ashok Pati describes it, “the film is about how crazy a boy and girl can get in love”.

Boasting of a glittering starcast ensemble, Diwana Diwani will feature veteran actors such as Mihir Das, Meenaketan, Pintu Nanda and Runu Parija.

The exuberance of youth will be brought in by the presence of young actors such as popular anchor-turned-actress Pinky Pradhan and Debashish. Prashant Padhi has scored the music.

After his Idiot act, Babushan is confident that his fans want him to carry on playing romantic roles.

“This will appeal to people from all walks of life. There is something for everyone. It is not just all about love but about how passionate one can be about love. The film will be liked by one and all,” said the actor, who is presently busy with the shoot of another film Love Master.

Producers of Diwana Diwani Pramod Kumar Swain and Siba Prasad Das were all praise for the cast and crew.

Among others, noted actor, Uttam Mohanty was also present at the launch to promote the film.

The film is slated for a release later this year.
