Filmi lessons

The state culture department has decided to organise children’s film festivals in various parts of the state at regular intervals as part of its initiative to inculcate moral values and good behaviour in children. In the first phase, two films of Children’s Film Society of India were screened at Kala Vikash Kendra in Cuttack on July 20.

Over 300 students from various schools in Cuttack watched Heda Hoda and Baja at the special screening. Both the movies are directed by Vinod Ganatra and A.K. Bir.

Heda Hoda is based on the life of a little boy called Sonu who hails from a remote village in the northwestern region of Kutch and unknowingly enters Pakistan. In Baja, Shibu, the protagonist, regaled the children with his rescuing an old lady from an adverse situation. “I really enjoyed today. We hardly get any scope to watch children’s movies, but these two were really inspirational,” said Sanjit Das, a Class V student.
