Paradip, Sept. 12: Police today arrested seven labourers, who were involved in the September 6 clash in the Posco project area.
Dispute over trench-digging to construct a boundary wall at the project site had led to the clash. Ten persons were injured in it. As the people resisted, the private company engaged for the job has suspended the operation.
“Seven persons were arrested. The offenders, who were later remanded in judicial custody, were from Nuagaon village. The labourers were engaged by a private construction company to carry out trench-digging on the boundaryof the steel project at Nolia Sahi village,” said Abhayachandrapur police station inspector Anirudha Routray.
