Rourkela, Jan. 15: A team of crime branch and an executive magistrate today recorded the statement of the 15-year-old girl, who was allegedly burnt by two stalkers at Lanjigarh in Kalahandi district on January 12.
The victim is undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit of Ispat General Hospital (IGH) here, where her condition is said to be critical. She had suffered 95 per cent burn injuries.
The crime branch team from Cuttack, consisting of three inspectors, spoke to the girl and her parents. Her statement was recorded by executive magistrate Nibharani Bhattarchaya.
According to sources, the two youths had allegedly passed remarks at the girl, which the girl protested to. They also quarrelled with her father, Jagannath, when he protested.

The police have already arrested the duo.
One of the two, being a minor, has been sent to a remand home while the other is in judicial custody. The cops have also taken the duo's parents into judicial custody for trying to protect the accused.
Snehanjali Mohanty, a member of the State Commission for Women (SCW) team which had visited the victim, said: "Her condition is critical and the state government will bear the cost of treatment." She said the case would be tried in a fast track court.
"The commission has already discussed the issue with the state government," she added.
Union tribal affairs minister Jual Oram also visited the victim at Ispat General Hospital yesterday and wrote to the Rourkela Steel Plant authorities to bear her treatment cost from the corporate social responsibility fund.
