Accident deaths

Koraput: Two persons were killed and 24 injured when two autorickshaws collided head on on a bridge in Jeypore on Monday. Sources said one of the autorickshaws was thrown off the bridge. The injured have been admitted to the district headquarters hospital.

Bhubaneswar: Unidentified goons shot at a youth and critically injured him. The incident took place in Airfield police station limits on Monday. Police sources said the victim has been admitted to Capital Hospital in a critical condition. 

Another held

Bhubaneswar: Police on Monday arrested another youth in the case of stalking, harassing and assaulting three youths on the Patia-Nandankanan road on Friday, said a a senior police official. Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi said the police had arrested Anil Choudhury in connection with the case.

RPF men axed

Bhubaneswar: Two Railway Protection Force personnel were suspended for the alleged assault of a physically-challenged man at Balasore station. Railway minister Suresh Prabhu has ordered a probe and directed the RPF’s director general to prove the matter after a video clip of the incident went viral.
