Road blockade

Kendrapara: Tension prevailed at Pattamundai after residents staged a road blockade to protest against disturbance caused by a group of people during Ganesh immersion on Monday afternoon.   

Soro unrest

Balasore: District administration has imposed a curfew on Monday at Soro following a group clash between two communities during the immersion of Lord Ganesh. Road communication in the area has been suspended from 6pm to 6am. On Sunday night, despite having Section 144 of CrPC in force, goons had torched seven shops.

Smart City 

Bhubaneswar: The Smart City Limited on Monday signed contracts with the programme management consultants for the smart city projects. The Egis India Consulting Engineers Pvt Limited, subsidiary of the France based firm Egis, signed the contract for the programme management consultant for the area based development projects. The value of the contract is Rs 26.80 crore for project duration of 4 years. 

CM lauds   

Sambalpur: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday lauded the agriculture and farmers' empowerment department as well as the farmers for the Global Agriculture Leadership Award 2016. Agriculture minister Pradeep Maharathy on Monday handed over the trophy to Naveen at the secretariat.

Devotees ill

Dhenkanal:  More than 20 people, including nine children, fell ill after consuming prasad of Khudurukuni puja at Patapur village in Dhenkanal on Monday. They have been admitted to the Kamakshanagar and Bhuban hospital.

One dead 

Dhenkanal: One person died and two were injured after a truck collided with a bike on Gouduniposh bridge in Sundergarh on Monday.
