Class X results

Bhubaneswar: : Results of the annual High School Certificate examinations will be declared on Wednesday. Board of Secondary Education chief D.P. Nanda informed that a control room has been set up to help the parents and students. A counsellor has also been stationed to help students. This year 6,01,348 students appeared in the matriculation examination that were held from February 22 across 2,882 centres.

Athletics fiasco

Bhubaneswar: Union finance minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday assured BJD Rajya Sabha MP, Bhupinder Singh, that he would discuss with Athletics Federation of India in connection with Odisha sprinters Srabani Nanda and Amiya Mallick being denied berths at the Rio Olympics despite winning gold medals at their respective qualifying events. The Kalahandi MP has also written a letter to the parliamentary affairs minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, requesting him to intervene.

Murder cuffs

Cuttack: Prashant Mallick was arrested on Tuesday for his alleged involvement in the brutal killing of his wife Saraswati at Arada village on April 22. Two severed hands of Saraswati have also been recovered and sent for forensic examinations, said the deputy commissioner of police, Sanjeev Arora.
