HSC exam
Cuttack:The Board of Secondary Education has begun the scanning process for the objective papers of the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examination that concluded on Friday. The evaluation of the answer papers will begin from March 11 for which the board has selected 67 e-school centres to carry out the activity.
Bombs found
Bhubaneswar: Four crude bombs were recovered near Gundicha Temple in Puri. Local residents spotted the bombs, which were fitted in four tiffin boxes in an abandoned bag. Kumbharpada police reached the spot and diffused the bombs.
Taradatt case
Cuttack: Senior IAS officer Taradatt on Friday appeared before the state commission for women after his estranged wife Indulata alleged that he was having a relationship with a bureaucrat based in Delhi. Indulata also appeared before the commission.
Gang busted
Bhubaneswar: Police on Friday arrested five members of a motorcycle lifting gang and recovered nearly 11 stolen bikes and some cash from them at Jeypore in Koraput district. A few gang members were on the run, said inspector in charge of Jeypore Town police station Tapan Rath.
Vigilance raid
Cuttack: Vigilance sleuths on Friday conducted raids on houses of a public works department clerk on allegations of graft. The officials from the anti-corruption wing raided four places belonging to Prasant Kumar Mohapatra, including two houses and a godown in Dhenkanal and his residence in CDA area here.
