Koshal demand

Sambalpur: The Koshal State Co-ordination Committee (KSCC) urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to declare a separate Koshal state during the farmers’ convention scheduled to be held at Bargarh on February 21. The KSCC, which met here in Sambalpur on Sunday, will also submit a memorandum to Modi. 

Dhal Samant

Bhubaneswar: The police conducted raids at the house of a Cuttack-based pharmaceutical firm owner on Sunday, which was being run by a close associate of the Dhal Samant brothers. Cops seized ammunitions during the search operation and they are also trying to nab a dozen close associates of the brothers who have absconded after their arrest on January 28.  

Rape arrest

Kendrapara: Police arrested a man for raping a 14-year-old girl in Kuaanrapal village in Marshaghai police limits. The accused, Kishore Pradhan, 25, had sexually assaulted the girl recently. The victim’s medical examination detected signs of assault. The accused has confessed to the crime, police said.
