Book launch

Bhubaneswar: The Dormant State, an English language political fiction based on Odisha by Dibya Satpathy was formally launched at IDCOL Auditorium here on Wednesday. The book release event started with a synopsis reading by Shantanu Prusty that was followed by the unveiling by the guests. The book will be available in bookstores and online platforms such as Flipkart and Amazon shortly.

Four killed

Bhubaneswar: Three people were killed on the Alanda-Sindhikela main road in Titilagarh after their bike hit a tree. In another incident, a 12-year-old boy was killed after their bike was hit by a truck in Dhenkanal on Wednesday. The other riders of the bike escaped with injuries.

Cold wave

Bhubaneswar: The regional meteorological centre on Wednesday predicted a rise in the mercury level in the next 24 hours. The mercury will maintain a steady rise till the end of January, said the Met office.

Landmines

Rayagada: A CRPF bomb squad on Wednesday dismantled two landmines planted on the road by Maoists at Hatamuniguda in Rayagada district. The cops had sealed the area after a tip-off. The landmines were detonated later.
