Murder charge

Balasore: Simulia police arrested Gajendra Barik, 32, of Pratappur village under Khirikona gram panchayat, after his in-laws alleged that Barik had killed his wife Manjulata Barik over dowry issues and threw the body into a pond.

Lightning

Baripada: Babuli Behera, 18, of Nembudiha in Baisinga, and Sarat Muduli Kantia Tikar, of Nilgiri, died due to lightning strike on Thursday.   

Suicide

Jajpur: Rosalin Malik, 30, allegedly committed suicide after poisoning her two-year-old son Dibyanshu at Korabandi village in Korei police limits. Dibyanshu is being treated at the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
