Body found

Bhubaneswar: The body of a 40-year-old man was found near Malipada in Chandaka police limits on Friday. The police suspected that the deceased was Ranjan Das, a businessman, who might have been crushed by an unidentified vehicle. The police are investigating the matter.

Attack

Cuttack: Unidentified goons have allegedly attacked the house of councillor of civic ward No. 1 Chittaranjan Das, who is presently in jail in connection with a fraud case since last April. Though family members suspect it to be a case of bombing, police have not found any trace of gunpowder or any such remnants.

Nabard move

Bhubaneswar: The Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, will have a chair instituted by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard). Amar K.J.R. Nayak, professor of strategic management, has been selected as the chair professor to lead the research activities and policy advice on agriculture and rural development.

Poacher in net

Baripada: Mayurbhanj wildlife officials on Friday seized three animal skins, including that a leopard, and arrested one Madan  Marandi, 32, of Chakhari village, in this connection.
