Shift of IIT campus Arrest NAC poll result  CM visit Murder cuffs

Shift of IIT campus

Bhubaneswar: The process of shifting the campus of IIT-Bhubaneswar at Aragul on the city outskirts has begun and regular classes will start at the new campus from July 22 this year. Some students of the second and third year batch will be shifted to the new campus by June-end. Around 400 students staying at other temporary campuses will also be shifted to the hostel on the new campus gradually.

Arrest

Cuttack: Police on Wednesday arrested Pratap Das, one of the key accused in the murder of Rabi Narayan Lenka, joint secretary of College Square Puja Committee on August 12 last year. 

NAC poll result 

Bhubaneswar: As many as 13 BJD candidates have won the election in Ranpur notified area council (NAC) that was held on May 5. The remaining two wards went to a Congress and an Independent candidates. As many as 55 candidates contested the polls. The election for the chairman of the NAC will be held on May 18.  

CM visit

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik left for New Delhi on Wednesday on an official tour. During his stay in the capital, he is scheduled to meet a few central ministers to pursue 
pending projects in Odisha. He will return on May 12. 

Murder cuffs 

Kendrapara: A court on Wednesday sentenced three persons to life imprisonment for the murder of a truck driver seven years ago. The murder was committed by Ajay Mallik, Ranjan Mallik and Dipti Ojha in 2008. Sessions judge Kirti  Barik pronounced the life imprisonment verdict on the basis of circumstantial evidence.
