Exam results
Cuttack: The results of High School Certificate examinations 2015 will be published on May 6. The results will be made available at bseodisha.nic.in and indiaresults.com, official websites of the Board of Secondary Education. The students with complaints can contact the authorities at 0671-2412059 or 241260 or on toll free No. 39456722. Nearly 5.78 lakh students have appeared the examination.
Croc captured
Kendrapara: Forest personnel captured a 10-ft long male crocodile from a community pond of Ragapatia village on the fringes of the Bhitarkanika National Park. Later, the crocodile was released in the river, said Bhitarkanika forest range officer Akshya Nayak.
Teacher held
Sambalpur: Sason police on Monday arrested Dibya Jyoti Mohapatra, a physics teacher of the Vikash Junior College, for duping students on the pretext of filling up their application form for the All India Pre-Medical Entrance Test. The teacher was detained on Sunday. Mohapatra had also collected Rs 1,500 each from eleven students to deposit against the entrance test. However, he did not apply for them and issued them fake admit cards mentioning examination centres at institutions in New Delhi.
Seized
Balasore: Sahadevkhunta police seized stolen properties worth Rs 3 lakh belonging to the FM Junior College and arrested Akshay Pallai, 19, and Satyanarayan Jena, 20. They were produced before court on Monday andsent to jail custody on rejection of their bail petitions, said Sahadevkhunta inspector-in-charge Paresh Rout.
Back from Nepal
Bhubaneswar: As many as 284 persons have returned to the state from earthquake-hit Nepal, the state government said on Monday. As many as 462 people, belonging to Odisha, were in Nepal when the natural calamity struck. An official said efforts were still on to bring back rest of the people to the state.
Bear attack
Balasore: A 58-year-old woman is undergoing treatment of bear attack injuries at sub-divisional hospital of Nilgiri. The victim, Jolimani Singh of Salabani village in Mahisapatta gram panchayat of Nilgiri block, was attacked by the bear on Sunday.
Award
Bhubaneswar: Filmmaker Sabyasachi Mohapatra received National Film Award for the best Odia film in the regional category for his film Adim Vichar. The director received Rajat Kamal from President Pranab Mukherjee.
