New units at SCB

Cuttack: The state health and family welfare minister on Wednesday inaugurated a high-tech modular operation theatre complex to upgrade the existing renal transplant unit at SCB Medical College and Hospital. An advanced laparoscopic OT and a blood storage unit at an estimated cost of nearly Rs 1.84 crore were also inaugurated.

Bhubaneswar: The ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar, a constituent of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, celebrated its 28th Annual Day here on Wednesday.

Mason dies

Sambalpur: A 38-year-old man died after he had fallen down from an under-construction planetarium at Burla. Md Daud, the deceased, who is from Hazaribagh of Jharkhand, was working as a mason in the project. Daud had suffered severe injuries and was immediately rushed to VSS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research. However, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Poll date

Nayagarh: The OSEC has postponed the Ranpur NAC's elections scheduled on April 7 over discrepancies in the poll list. The election has been postponed to March 5.
