Robbers nabbed

Bhubaneswar: Police on Wednesday arrested three goons as they were preparing to commit a robbery at Infocity. The cops seized two pistols and two rounds of ammunition from the robbers. The accused — Sarada Moharana, Shankar Moharana and Shalu Dehuri, procured the firearms from Bihar.

Award

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday presented Kalinga Samman award to educators and science communicator Trilochan Pradhan. He received a citation, shawl and Rs 1 lakh from Naveen at a function held at the Institute of Physics in Bhubaneswar. 

The award is given for the popularisation of science and technology in Odisha. So far, six persons in the state have been conferred with this distinction.
