Farmer loans

Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday said the government would re-schedule farmers’ agriculture loan repayments. He said they need not worry about re-payment and the government is with them. He also said that he had urged the Centre to provide a Rs 3,000-crore special package to meet the drought crisis. Meanwhile, Pradesh Congress Committee chief Prasad Harichandan toured drought affected areas of the state today.   

Feeder flight

Bhubaneswar: Air India has introduced a morning feeder flight to Delhi from Sunday with immigration and customs clearances done at the Biju Patnaik International Airport. The feeder flight, operating under the hub and spoke model, will depart at 10.15am. 

Low pressure

Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure system formed over the Bay of Bengal is likely to trigger rain and thundershowers in parts of coastal Odisha. The Met office said the low-pressure area had formed over southwest Bay of Bengal, off Sri Lanka coast. The system would become more marked during next 48 hours and would cause rains and thundershowers over coastal Odisha.

Body found

Bhubaneswar: The half burnt body of a youth was found near a hill in Angul district on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Khageswar Pradhan from a village within Khamar police station limits. He had been missing for the past two days. Local residents  spotted the half-charred body near Bada Jambuan hillock and informed police.
