Dav students showcase skills on field

Heroes celebrated

ODM School, Bhubaneswar, recently observed the birth anniversaries of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Veer Surendra Sai. Principal S. Minaketan stressed on the relevance of the two in modern times.

DAV sports

Sports and callisthenics play a vital role in forming national integration and coordination in social life, said CBSE, Bhubaneswar, regional officer Thongkholet Mate during the sports meet of DAV, Chandrasekharpur, recently. Students took part in march past and drill displays on themes such as afforestation, environmental protection and cleanliness drive. Piyush Preetam Jena and Sourav Kumar in junior boys, Preeti Rani Swain and Komal Pradhan in junior girls, Abhinab Mohanty in sub-senior boys, Tanushree Pradhan in sub-senior girls, Souvik Samal and Sahil Biswal in senior boys, Soumya Mohanty and Sai Pragyan Padhi in senior girls won in their respective categories.

Safety lessons

Around 400 students from five schools in Bhubaneswar received lessons on road safety during the School Bus Safety Competition organised by Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India here. Students between 9-13 years, bus drivers and conductors took part in it. The students were counselled about boarding, de-boarding and appropriate conduct inside a school bus.

Fire drill

Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 4, Bhubaneswar, conducted a mock drill on fire fighting and rescue operation under the guidance of station officer Ajaya Kumar Barada and team members of Chandrasekharpur Fire Station on January 25.

Utkal honour

Senior teacher of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, Debendra Kumar Pati received the Netaji Samman for academic and literary excellence from Utkal Mail during birth anniversary commemorations of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

Blood donation

DAV Public School, Unit- 8, organised a blood donation camp in collaboration with Red Cross, Lions Club, students and teachers of NSS, Health and Wellness Club, NCC, Scouts and Guides of the school. About 110 parents, teachers and well-wishers took part in the camp.

Sports meet

The Rotary Club of New Horizon organised its annual field and track event for over 100 students of Palashpalli Nursery School for the Deaf, Bhubaneswar, recently.
