
Bhubaneswar: The students of Bhubaneswar region have fared well in this year's CBSE Class-XII Examinations, the results of which were announced on Saturday.
Overall, 83.7 per cent students from Odisha, Bengal and Chhattisgarh - that fall under the region - have cleared the test. Last year, the pass percentage was 73.95.
Chief minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated all students who have been successful in the CBSE exams. "I wish them my best for their future pursuits," he tweeted.
Schools in Bhubaneswar have also performed well.
At DPS Kalinga, Milind Anand emerged the topper from science with 96 per cent. In commerce, Ananya Rathi topped with 96 per cent and Anwesha Senapati with 94 per cent marks topped in humanities. Principal Anuradha Rakshit congratulated the students and said: "It is indeed heart-warming to note the outstanding performance of our students and I wish the students success in all their future endeavours."
Pranav Manie of SAI International School passed with an aggregate of 98 per cent in commerce. As many as 484 students had appeared for the examination, out of which 32.2 per cent secured more than 90 per cent marks and 89.3 per cent students secured more than 75 per cent marks.
"I was thrilled. It feels really great," hesaid.
"Every day, I put in 10 to 12 hours of effort. I also ensured to play football every day to release my stress. I plan to study economics in some good college of Delhi University. I want to take up a job as an economic analyst," he said.
At KIIT International School, 99 per cent students secured first division. Reetu Kumari scored 100 in three subjects with overall 99 per cent marks to top in commerce.
