Bhubaneswar, Aug. 29: The OJEE authorities are yet to notify counselling dates for aspirants of bachelor of homoeopathic medicine and surgery (BHMS) and the bachelor of ayurvedic medicine and surgery (BAMS) programmes leaving about 2,000 students in a quandary.
OJEE secretary Priyabrata Sahoo said that the counselling dates could not be announced as they were yet to get a clear-cut seat matrix from the Ayush.
“We have already received a fresh communication from the Centre permitting admissions into all the ayurvedic and homeopathic colleges in the state,” said Srikant Prushty, director Ayush. He admitted that the delay was due to various procedures and formalities involved.
The delay has, however, irked candidates who even after taking the OJEE continue to remain uncertain about their career.
“It is strange that despite all clearances at hand, as neither the OJEE not any of the ayurvedic and homeopathy colleges in the state are coming out with information on admission. Everybody is shifting their responsibilities to each other,” said Sidhharth Sadangi, a student
Although the Central Council of Homeopathy (CCH) and the health and family welfare department had earlier denied permission for admission into these collges, the regulatory bodies in a fresh communiqué to the state government, had permitted the admissions.
“There is no reason why there should be any delay. It has been more than three months now. This is nothing but the indifferent attitude of the OJEE authorities,” Sadangi said.
