Balangir: BJP national president Amit Shah will address a youth rally at the Koshal Kala Mandal ground here on April 5.
Shah will visit Bhawanipatna and Balangir in west Odisha on April 4 and April 5. He is also scheduled to address a farmers' rally in Bhawanipatna on April 4.
BJP sources said around 50,000 youths from six parliamentary constituencies are expected to attend the rally in Balangir. On Sunday, the BJP performed "bhoomi puja" at the Koshal Kalamandal ground for the visit of Shah.
Patnagarh legislator K.V. Singhdeo, BJP chief spokesperson Sajjan Sharma and state spokesperson Dillip Mohanty were among others who were present at the puja.
Sajjan Sharma said: "After landing in Raipur, he will come to Bhawanipatna by road. The programme of Shah is part of the 120 plus mission in Odisha in the next Assembly election."
"He will attend a rally of the farmers and will address them in Bhawanipatna on April 4. He will spend the night in Bhawanipatna. In the morning of April 5, he will proceed to Balangir," he said.
Sharma said on the way to Balangir town, Shah may stop for his welcome at several places such as Belgaon, Bargaon, Saintala and Deogaon in Balangir district.
"He will address a huge rally of youths in Balangir, where 50,000 youths are expected to turn up from Balangir, Kalahandi, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Phulbani," he said.
Shah will leave for New Delhi after laying the foundation stone of the Balangir BJP office building at Dhumamara village on the outskirts of Balangir.
