Bhubaneswar, May 3: Something different seems to be the motto for actor Deepak.

In his upcoming film Sapanara Nayika, he will be seen playing a fanatical fan of a film actress, which is directed by choreographer-turned-filmmaker Rajpradeep.

Deepak’s character is head-over-heels in love with an actress played by Pinky Priyadarshini.

So, when he happens to meet his dream girl, she treats him like any other fan of hers. Ignorant to the fact that life of an actress is very different in real world compared to the reel one, the boy feels disheartened. On his way back home, perchance again the boy bumps into the same actress again, who has met with an accident and lost her memory. He immediately rescues and treats her. However, the actress fails to recognise the boy once she regains her memory.

The film narrates a story where love degenerates into obsession.

Deepak believes the audience will like his performance. “The whole look and attitude of the character is quite different from what I have done previously. The audience will certainly appreciate the film,” said the actor.

After their last outing together in Chanda Na Tume Tara, actor Manoj Mishra would again team with Deepak. Manoj will be seen playing a good-humoured, but corrupt cop in the film. The film also stars Sritam Das and jatra veteran Daitari Panda.

Rajpradeep is taking the trend forward of choreographers donning the hat of directors. “Being a director is not easy in the Odia film industry. One has to be very careful that the budget of the film does not exceed from what producers have invested and the schedule is strictly followed. It is a kind of disadvantage, but it is also a challenge to bring out the best with limited resources,” said Rajpradeep, who has earlier choreographed films such as Pahili Raja.

Bijay Laxmi Panda has written the story and Rajni Ranjan has penned the dialogues. Prasant Padhee has given the music for the film. Majority of scenes have been shot at Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri.

The film is produced under the banner of Excel Movies. Actress Pinki had made her debut in Tu Mo Arambha Tu mo Sesha made under the same banner. The film is likely to hit theatres in the second week of May.
