Bhubaneswar, Sept. 7: Odia film Om Sai Ram is set hit the theatres on September 14. None other than the male lead for the film, actor Sabyasachi, broke the news. He announced it along with a poster of the film that the actor posted on a social networking site.
The crew of Om Sai Ram promises an entertaining package of action and romance. Veteran actor Hara Patnaik plays the villain while others artistes in the film are Sabyasachi, Buddhaditya, Manas, Ashrumochan, Smita Mohanty and young actresses Prakruti Mishra, Koyel and Mousumi.
Hara Patnaik makes a comeback as a director with this film after taking a three-year break because of illness.
“All that I can reveal now is that the story revolves around three brothers — Om, Sai and Ram. They separate during childhood, but destiny brings them together later. I play Sai, an honest police officer,” said Sabyasachi.
While Manas plays Om, Buddhaditya essays the role of Ram. The film was initially slated for a Raja release, but because of delay in post-production it will hit theatres next week.
“We began shooting in February. Working with Hara Patnaik has been a wonderful experience,” said Sabyasachi.
Susant Rath has produced the film, while Patnaik has written the screenplay. Subodh Patnaik has written the dialogues and Manmath Mishra is the music director. Sirsananda Daskanungo, Basantraj Samal, Manmath Mishra and Nizam have penned the lyrics. As soon as Sabyasachi posted the release date, his fans showed their eagerness to watch the movie.
“It is after a hiatus that we will get to see Sabyasachi. I am looking forward to seeing him in the role of a police officer. Also, Hara Patnaik is a people’s director. I hope the film lives up to expectations,” said Manoj Rout, a film enthusiast.
