Bhubaneswar: The civic body plans to install 60 pre-fabricated modular toilets across the city.
The work order for this purpose will be issued shortly.
The 60 modular toilets will be put up at approximately 30 designated locations in the city. Of these, 30 each have been earmarked for men and women. While 40 toilets are semi-automatic, the remaining are fully-automatic models.
The design and construction of these toilets are flexible to users' requirements. Being made of stainless steel also adds durability to the toilets.
The fully-automatic toilets, also known as e-toilets, have the self-cleaning capability. These also result in zero or no contamination. The fully automated ones are operated after the user enters a card, while the others are manually operated. For better maintenance and sustainable approach, both will be chargeable so that the operation and maintenance could be smooth and easy.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation issued a request for proposal on July 23. A pre-bid meeting was held on August 3 and the last date of submission of proposal was August 27. The work order is likely to be issued shortly.
