Guwahati, Aug. 22: Assam’s leading woman tennis player — Varsha Dutta — has entered the final of the under-14 Adidas-Madras Cricket Club junior national tennis championship in Chennai, beating Sivika Barman of Bengal in the last four.

Dutta, ranked among the top five in the country, had got the better of second seed Gayatri Krishnan 0-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 in the quarterfinal yesterday.

Abdul Barek of NF Railway has bagged the second spot in the all-India railway marathon in Kerala. Barek won in two hours and 35 minutes.
