Dibrugarh, Jan. 23: The Jyoti Lalita Kanoi Foundation today inaugurated three drinking water projects in the memory of Laxminarayan Kanoi, Sitaramji Kanoi and Rukmani Devi Kanoi at three Dibrugarh colleges run by the foundation in collaboration with the state government.
"We are pleased to say that we have taken a large step towards the fulfilment of our first objective. Safe drinking water is a fundamental necessity. The establishment of RO-filtered and cool drinking water facilities across the three campuses enables a student to drink safe, clean and cool drinking water at all times when in college. We are pleased to have been able to work in close cooperation with the governing bodies of DHS Kanoi Law College, DHS Kanoi College and MD Kanoi Girls' College to construct and establish these drinking water systems,'' said Jyoti Prasad Kanoi, chairman of the foundation.
Both Dibrugarh University vice-chancellor Alok Kumar Buragohain and guest of honour Nagen Saikia, former president of the Asam Sahitya Sabha, applauded the Kanois' contribution to education.
